We’ll be starting from the carpark of the Market Rasen Town Cricket and Football Association.
Please note that the parking is limited here.
The carpark is accessible from the Gallamore Lane industrial estate. It’s quite easy to miss the turning down to the carpark, it’s on the left on the first bend when you enter the industrial estate, drive slowly and look out for their logo!
Alternative parking is at the Festival Hall and then there is a short cut-through on foot to the cricket ground (turn left out of the carpark then left again down Rase Lane). N.B. there is a small charge at this carpark.
- Suitable outdoor clothing, wellies recommended!
- All the stream dipping equipment is provided and we’d prefer it if you didn’t bring your own nets. This is to help reduce the spread of diseases and invasive species.
- Watch the weather conditions and plan accordingly, i.e. sun cream, hat etc if necessary.
About the event
As part of the wonderful Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival we’re running a stream investigation event!
Bring the kids and come and do a bit of stream dipping with us to find out what lurks beneath the waters of the River Rase. Wellies essential!
Although aimed at families we’ll also be explaining how our volunteers survey aquatic invertebrates to monitor the water quality of our rare Lincolnshire chalk streams. So if you class yourself as a ‘grown up’ and are interested in learning a little more then come along!
A word about our funders
We’re only able to deliver events like this thanks to external funding.
This project is funded by the government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The fund is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
