About the site
As part of our ongoing blow wells project to protect the rare Crystal Moss Animal thanks to funding from Natural England, we’ll be improving the habitat of Barrow Blow Wells.
This is managed by our partners at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust as one of their reserves. It’s a beautiful site (although can be a bit boggy!) with a stunning example of one of Lincolnshire’s rare blow wells.
As a potential site to translocate the rare rystal Moss Animal too we’re planning to improve the flow out of the blow well by unblocking the channel that flows into the nearby beck.
We’ll be getting the waders on and getting in to pull out some of the branches etc that are blocking the flow.
PLEASE let us know if you’re coming we may need to limit numbers for safety if we’re getting too much interest.
