Our Partners
The UK BAP was the UK Government’s response to the Convention on Biological Diversity, signed at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. Chalk streams were identified as a UK Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) Priority Habitat (now succeeded by the UK Post-2010 Biodiversity Framework). As a result of this several organisations came together in 2003 to form the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project;
- Lincolnshire County Council (Hosting Partner)
- Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service
- Environment Agency
- Anglian Water
- Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust
- Wild Trout Trust
- Natural England
An expanding partnership
The partnership supporting the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project ( LCSP) wants to see:
“Lincolnshire’s Chalk Streams and Blow Wells being protected or restored to a quality
which sustains the high conservation value of their wildlife, healthy water supplies,
recreation opportunities and an increased awareness and understanding of their place in
the character and cultural history of the landscape”
Since the beginning of the project support has grown with the following organisations joining the Partnership:
- Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership
- North Lincolnshire Council
- North East Lincolnshire Council
- East Lindsey District Council
- West Lindsey District Council
- Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Trust
