Case Studies

Market Rasen Golf course

One of our partners the Environment Agency approached us for help in finding ways to help reduce the build up of sediment at one of their flood alleviation schemes. We worked in partnership to engage with Market Rasen Golf Club and with their support we used a specialist consultant to design several Natural Flood Management measures to help reduce and trap sediment before reaching the flood alleviation structure. The project was delivered in 2021 and we will continue to monitor the works.

Great Eau, Claythorpe

The Project Officer worked with landowners along the Great Eau downstream of Claythorpe mill to help protect the banks of the Great Eau from grazing. Some of the land and been newly purchased and there were plans to graze the fields. We worked to together and have installed fencing and gates to help control the movement of livestock and minimise erosion. One of the landowners even provided us with the opportunity to plant trees in meandering areas that had been fenced off.

Watermill, Tealby

In 2018 landowner approached LCSP for advise on how to care for the chalk stream that flowed alongside their garden. The Project Officer provided advice and sought funding from the Environment Agency and along with support from the adjoining neighbours we restored the bed and banks of the mill race.
