We are working with Catchment Sensitive Farming Officers on the River Lud, Louth Canal, Great/Long Eau and River Bain catchments to establish a farm cluster group. With support from Anglian Water, we are holding several events throughout the year to discuss sustainable farming practices which support long term farm productivity. With a focus on water and soil health, topics and events include water and fertiliser efficiency, soil protection and enhancement, water quality, natural flood management, farm environmental grants and strategies, and technologies and techniques which support these. The cluster group takes a holistic approach to protecting and enhancing chalk streams. As surrounding land use has a direct impact on local waterways, sharing knowledge and encouraging improved land management practices will help safeguard and improve these important environments.

About the Funding

Anglian Water’s Farm Cluster Fund will support this initiative over the next three years. Improving soil and water health is a key priority for Anglian Water, and this funding is designed to bring land managers together to collaborate, share expertise, and deliver projects that contribute to these objectives.
